NEW YORK–WestPoint Home has reached an agreement with Hanesbrands to design, produce and market a collection of bed and bath textiles under the Hanes brand.
Included in the line are Hanes-branded sheets, bedding and accessories, bath towels and accessories, blankets, throws, down comforters, pillows and mattress pads. WestPoint will show the first products in this collection during the September New York Home Fashions Market. Deliveries are slated to begin in spring 2011, and the line will be available to all retail channels.
The new license further extends WestPoint’s reach into fashion brands. The company has held the Ralph Lauren Home bedding license since the mid-1980s. In the past year, the company has signed license agreements for bedding collections with Izod and Caribbean Joe.
For Hanes, this is the brand’s second venture into home textiles. Franco Manufacturing offered a limited, Hanes-branded knit-sheet line more than 10 years ago.
Calling Hanes “one of the most beloved and most recognized brands in the U.S.,” John Piazza, WestPoint’s president and chief executive officer, said, “Our designers have put together a collection that is comfortable, functional, innovative and in easy-to-live-with designs.”
