NEW YORK-The first Surtex Asia is scheduled to take place from Aug. 25-27 at the Kerry Hotel in Pudong, Shanghai.
According to a statement from GLM, the show’s owner and manager, the new show will display original art and design for product development, similar to the U.S. Surtex show, which takes place each May in New York City. More than 1,500 textile manufacturers are expected to attend, coming from China, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
Penny Sikalis, Surtex Asia’s manager and GLM vice president, said the response to the show from both design studios and Asian manufacturers “has generated great momentum. There’s an energy and excitement behind this new market, and a collective understanding that it will greatly impact Asian textile manufacturing.”
