LAS VEGAS–Gift + Home at Las Vegas Market has scheduled the following seminars for the January trade show.
On Monday, Jan. 24:
•“First Look,” presenting an overview of new products at the market, by Monica Pedersen, co-host of HGTV’s “Dream Home Giveaway 2011,” and Julie Smith Vincenti, founder and president of Nine Muses Media, at 10 a.m.
•“1st Time Buyers Orientation,” providing tips on how market attendees can maximize their time at the show, presented by World Market Center Las Vegas at 10 a.m.
•“Home Accents Today Universe Study,” presented by Jenny Heinzen York, editor-in-chief of the magazine, and presenting the results of a study of key product categories in home accents, at 2 p.m.
•“Christopher Lowell: Secrets to Retailing for the Hyper-tasking Consumer,” presented by the designer and offering a look at what’s on the minds of consumers today, at 4 p.m.
On Tuesday, Jan. 25:
•“Online Shopping Trend: Private Sales Clubs,” presented by Yona Shtern, chief executive officer of Beyond the Rack, and describing how members-only clubs have become an established retail concept throughout North America, at 10 a.m.
•“60 Creative Store Promotions in 60 Minutes,” presented by Patricia Norins, publisher of Gift Shop magazine, and detailing strategies aimed at giving retail customers reason to frequent a store and spend more, at a time to be determined
•“Merchandising for a Must-See Retail Experience,” presented by author and lifestyle expert Connie Post, and reviewing the latest merchandising trends from Cologne, France, Paris and the National Retail Federation conference, at 4 p.m.
On Wednesday, Jan. 26:
•“Social Networking and SEO – Introducing the Perfect Online Marketing Formula, presented by social-networks expert Julia Rosien and describing how to set up the search-engine optimization (SEO) for a successful social-networking campaign, at 10 a.m.
All of the conferences will take place on the third floor of building C except for “First Look,” which will be held in the World Forum of the market center.
