NEW YORK–Four Bloggers’ Choice Awards for exemplary product design were presented to Accent on Design exhibitors at NY Now earlier this week. Four bloggers from noted design and trend-watching sites each were invited to select one product, representing “urgent, odd and delightful design,” from among Accent on Design’s more than 150 exhibitors.
“Design bloggers are on the front line, discovering promising talent and fresh ideas daily,” said Christian Falkenberg, NY NOW director and senior vice president at GLM, which owns and operates the show. “We’ve tapped into their up-to-the-minute perspective by inviting them to share their favorites from Accent on Design.”
Joanne Domeniconi, The Grommet, recognized Guyot Designs (dba Spruce) for its unbreakable, stemless, silicone wine glass. Glenn Jackson Taylor, Core77, recognized Materious for its Cut Once Heirloom wooden ruler and pen-tray, designed by Stephanie and Bruce Tharp. Marisa Marcantonio, Stylebeat, noted Seletti for its Multidish platter designed by Maxime Ansjau. Danielle McWilliams, Design-Calendar, called out Areaware for Little Big Trivet.
