WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.-The fifth semi-annual Artisan Resource will feature increased global representation and an expanded exhibit floor when it takes place this summer, from Aug.16-19.
The show, which runs concurrently with NY Now, offers retailers a venue for sourcing from overseas artisan enterprises. This summer’s edition will include a number of government-sponsored pavilions as well, according to Allison Garafalo, Artisan Resource’s sales manager. Both Artisan Resource and NY Now are owned and managed by GLM. As of now, more than 100 exhibitors have signed to appear at the show, representing 27 countries, with several more expected to confirm before the show opens.
Garafalo said the exhibitors will be showcasing “a broad spectrum of products and artisanal production capabilities for decorative accessories, personal accessories and apparel, home textiles, tableware and more.”
The countries that will have pavilions are South Africa, Mexico, Cambodia, Indonesia, Ecuador, Vietnam, Panama and Tunisia. South Africa and Mexico will be new to the show.
In addition, the Market Incubator Pavilion—which was created in 2013 through a partnership between GLM, Hand/Eye Fund and ByHand Consulting—will return to the show with 15 companies. This program facilitates the participation of emerging artisan enterprises.
