NEW DELHI-The inaugural editions of Ambiente India and Heimtextil India took place here, at Pragati Maidan, from June 19-21.
According to a statement from Messe Frankfurt, owner and manager of the two shows, the two fairs welcomed 6,525 trade visitors. Exhibitors at Ambiente India included companies based in India, Germany, Japan and Sri Lanka, who presented art pieces and home decor products for the 2014-2015 Indian buying season. The exhibitors included companies that have participated in Ambiente in Europe and first-time Indian participants.
Heimtextil India, which took place with Ambiente India in a “strategic coupling,” played host to 113 exhibiting companies (no figure for the number of exhibitors was provided for Ambiente India). Attendees included architects, interior designers, project planners, retail chains and buying agents from across India.
Held concurrently with Heimtextil India was a one-day event, the South Asia Digital Textile Conference, which presented digital textile printing technology. Attendees included professionals from the design, consulting and production sides of the textiles industry for a look at the economical and technical aspects of digital textile printing, along with the future for this aspect of the industry.
