Separate “Made in the USA” and “Handmade in the USA” logos will be incorporated in booth signage and called-out directory listings for about 450 NY Now exhibitors which have identified themselves as offering American-made products. These vendors have met specific criteria to authenticate their American-made products, according to a statement from GLM, NY Now’s owner and manager. The criteria were established in advance of the winter 2013 show through an alliance between NY Now and the Craft Retailers’ Association for Tomorrow (CRAFT), a group of galleries, shops and artists dedicated to promoting American-made craft.
NY Now will also present a seminar titled “Cash-In on the Cachet of ‘Made in the USA,’” which will include a panel of American-made sourcing and selling specialists. The session will explore authentication, certification, marketing and brand positioning intended to capitalize on consumer preferences toward Made in the USA products.
The trade show will also have a display to showcase American-made products, both handmade and factory-produced. It will feature nearly 200 products from NY Now exhibitors.
NY Now is scheduled for Aug. 17-21 at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 94.
