NEW YORK-The glamorous designs of famed Hollywood set designer Tony Duquette have been brought to the table by Mottahedeh, which launched the Tony Duquette porcelain collection at the New York Tabletop Show this week.
Red Coral dinnerware has a unique 10-sided design and a handpainted raised border design of red coral, one of Duquette’s signature design motifs. The pattern is also available in gold or platinum on white. The collection also includes three service plates with the look of panel-cut stones, in malachite, lapis lazuli and red tortoise shell; mini soup tureens in pumpkin-shaped white bisque decorated with gold leaves, or in an artichoke shape; and black cache pots designed to resemble black basalt.
The collection is the result of a partnership between Mottahedeh and Hutton Wilkinson, Duquette’s business partner and the owner, creative director and president of Tony Duquette Inc. Duquette passed away in 1999.
