CHICAGO-The International Home + Housewares Show begins here today, a four-day run expected to attract 60,000 attendees from more than 100 countries.
The show, which features more than 2,100 exhibitors from across dozens of product categories, begins at McCormick Place at 10 a.m. today, an earlier start from last year. The show begins at 8:30 on the succeeding days. The show closes at 5:30 p.m. each day except for the last day, Tuesday, when it ends at 3 p.m.
The show will feature dozens of educational seminars and events, perhaps none as popular as the Cooking Theater, which attracts a who’s who of celebrity chefs throughout the show, including Ming Tsai, Rick Bayless, Paula, Deen, Todd English, Duff Goldman and many more.
In addition to the many parties hosted by individual companies both on-site and across the city, the industry will gather on Monday night for the annual Housewares Charity Foundation Gala Evening, which this year will honor Kathryn Bufano, president and chief merchandising officer of Belk, and Keith Jaffee, chairman of O2 Cool.
