NEW YORK–Michael Karyo has joined flatware maker Hampton Forge as chief operating officer, overseeing sales, marketing, and product development. In this new position for Hampton Forge, Karyo reports to Felix Amar, president and CEO.
Karyo has more than 23 years of housewares management and product development experience. After a start at Catamount Glass, Karyo founded SiliconeZone in 2000. In 2009, he joined Casabella as vice president of sales and marketing, where he expanded its silicone housewares business and oversaw gourmet product development, marketing and new channel diversification.
“Hampton Forge is ultimately a product development-driven company. I will work with our excellent product development team to cultivate products in adjacent categories so we can enter new channels of distribution including commercial, specialty, and independents, and expand our assortment in existing channels,” Karyo said.
