Simon Doonan, creative ambassador at large for Barneys whose latest book is titled “Gay Men Don’t Get Fat,” will headline a breakfast seminar at Forty One Madison Wednesday, April 18, part of the many offerings and events planned for the New York Spring Tabletop Show this month.
“Simon Doonan is guaranteed to start everyone’s day off in high spirits,” said Laurie Burns, senior vice president and director of Forty One Madison. “His skewed vision is irresistible, and we’re excited to be able to host him at The New York Tabletop Market.”
The breakfast program is 8-9:15 a.m., and in addition to taking questions following his presentation, Doonan also will be available to sign books, with each guest receiving a complimentary copy while supply lasts.
Forty One Madison is welcoming two international luxury brands that have taken showroom space, along with other new and expanded showrooms.
Hermès has completed a new 3,000-square-foot location on the 22nd floor. On display here under the company’s home division banner, Art de la Table, will be La Table Hermès branded dinnerware and accessories, Saint-Louis crystal and Puiforcat silver, along with executive offices.
Newly opened on the 22nd floor will be Ralph Lauren Home, in a 2,500-square-foot space showcasing its breadth of gifts and decorative accessories.
Tzeng Shyng is another Forty One Madison newcomer. Its U.S. operations now occupy a 2,500-square-foot space on the third floor that includes a showroom and offices. At market, it will take the wraps off of its eco-friendly tabletop designs of GML Green Melamine and Bio Bamboo Fiber, among other collections. According to Charles Guthrie III, president of Tzeng Shyng Group.
Tervis heads to the recently renovated eighth floor and a location that will triple the space where it previously was housed. Michael Aram, which moved into Forty One on the eighth floor just a year ago, also is taking on additional space on the floor. Another eighth floor neighbor, Circle Glass, is increasing its real estate by 50 percent, an expansion that also comes within a year of moving into the building.
The show takes place April 17-20.
