NEW YORK–Belleek Pottery, based in Fermanagh, Ireland, will now manage its U.S. sales, marketing and distribution directly in an effort to capture “significant” export sales growth here, the company said. Belleek has been distributed to the U.S. market by Reed & Barton.
The new operation, which begins April 1, will be headed up by Bill Follett who has been appointed as president, Belleek Group North America. Formerly, Follett held sales and management rolls with Juliska and Reed & Barton, where he worked with the independent retailers and department stores.
“This is a major investment for the business but one which we are making to deliver increased sales and to strengthen our retail base in the U.S. marketplace,” said John Maguire, group managing director, Belleek Pottery Group. “Although we have always worked well with distributors in the past we are excited about the potential that being ‘masters of our own destiny’ could offer. Bill Follett is highly experienced in the tableware and giftware market and with the additional resources that we are now going to be able to invest in product development, sales support and marketing we are confident that Bill and his team will build sales with existing customers and also develop new distribution channels”.
