BROOKLYN, N.Y.-West Elm, the Williams-Sonoma-owned home furnishings retailer, will open a new store at 678 Post Road in Scarsdale, N.Y., on June 28.
The new store will be the first to offer West Elm’s complete fall collection, including furniture, textiles, decorative accessories and gifts created in collaboration with artists from South Africa. The collection showcases the color palette and various design influences of 16 of South Africa’s artisans, including furniture designer John Vogel, ceramicist Gemma Orkin and the artisan collective Potter’s Workshop. Handmade crafts and other items collected during recent trips to Cape Town and Johannesburg are also in the assortment.
Several of West Elm’s signature furniture pieces have also been updated for the fall, including new finishes on its Parsons collection and a tufted version of the Tillary sofa.
To celebrate the store opening, West Elm is hosting a sweepstakes which offers a chance to win a $2,000 shopping spree and access to a special pre-opening event that will benefit ArtsWestchester, a local non-profit organization dedicated to supporting cultural organizations and artist residencies in the community.
