BENTONVILLE, Ark.-Walmart has formed a new business unit for its eastern region, and has named Rosalind Brewer president of Walmart East.
Headquartered in Atlanta, Walmart East will encompass its stores in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Michigan, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Maine. Brewer has assumed charge over the strategic direction of the new unit, including growth opportunities in store innovation, people development, supply chain and real estate.
A veteran of Walmart since 2006, Brewer was named president of Walmart South and executive vice president of Walmart U.S. in January 2010. At that time, Walmart’s U.S. business had been restructured into regions—Walmart South, Walmart North and Walmart West.
