DALLAS–Tuesday Morning posted net sales of $273.1 million in its fiscal second quarter, down 2.2 percent from the second quarter of last year, according to a preliminary report from the closeout retailer.
Same-store sales for the quarter, which ended on Dec. 31, dropped 4.6 percent, comprising a 3.5 percent decrease in traffic and a 1.1 percent decline in average ticket. Based on these results, Tuesday Morning said it now expects total sales for this fiscal year, which will end on June 30, to be from $815 million to $820 million. If so, sales would be flat to down 0.7 percent from last year.
Tuesday Morning also said it expects same-store sales to be down from 3 percent to 3.75 percent from the last fiscal year.
