MISSISSAUGA, Ontario-Target said it will continue its expansion into Canada this year with the opening of nine stores in addition to the 124 it has already opened north of the border.
This spring, the mass merchant will open three stores, one each in Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia. In summer, two stores will open in Ontario and one will open in Quebec. This fall will bring the opening of two more Ontario locations and one in Manitoba.
Target opened its initial 124 Canadian stores last year. Tony Fisher, president of Target Canada, said, “As we head into 2014, we will continue to enhance the guest experience at all stores while continuing to expand our presence in new Canadian neighborhoods.”
