WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.-Surtex will expand its new Atelier section, a specialized area for designers and design studios that sell their creations outright, by 33 percent for the upcoming show, May 19-21.
GLM, Surtex’s owner and manager, had announced the Atelier section in November as part of its overall expansion of the show for this year. A GLM statement said the new section has confirmed more than 65 studios from the United States, Great Britain, Italy, France, The Netherlands, Israel, Japan and Argentina. The section’s enlargement will allow for another 25 to 30 studios, GLM said.
Among the other expansions at the show are an overall increase in its layout with added licensing and selling aisles, and enlargements of both the Trend Theater and the ReSource Hub. The show will take place at its usual venue, the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.
