WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.–Attendance at last month’s Surtex trade show totaled nearly 6,000, comprising manufacturers, retailers and developers of products from a variety of categories, according to a statement from GLM, the show’s owner and manager.
The show, which marked its 25th anniversary in May, provided art and design from 277 exhibiting companies, representing the work of more than 1,000 artists, designers and properties from around the world. That exhibitor total was 23 percent ahead of last year’s Surtex.
Penny Sikalis, vice president of GLM and the show’s manager, said the attendees, who came from throughout the world, “were more serious than ever about finding new art works and new partnerships with artists, designers and agents.”
Next year’s Surtex is scheduled for May 20-22, 2012, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. GLM said it is anticipating 325 exhibitors and about 6,000 attendees at next year’s show.
