Sur La Table Promotes Maurer to SVP

       

       

SEATTLE—Sur La Table has promoted Jacob Maurer to the position of senior vice president – general merchandising manager, effective immediately. In this new position, Maurer will be responsible for all merchandise buying and product development functions within the company.

Maurer joined Sur La Table in 2003 as a store manager, opening the chain’s first Massachusetts store located in Chestnut Hill. In October, 2004 he joined the company’s merchandising team in Seattle where Maurer held multiple positions before rising to the position of vice president of merchandising in February, 2009.

“Jacob has been a major contributor to the growth and success of Sur La Table over the past 10 years,” said Jack Schwefel, president and CEO. “He has grown up with the brand and his passion for the product and our customer is, and will always be unparalleled.  In this new position we look for him to expand the breadth and depth of Sur La Table’s assortment while also deepening relationships with current vendors and developing new vendor partners.”
