Silver Named EVP of Home for Sears Canada

TORONTO–Sears Canada has made its second key high-executive appointment in less than a week, appointing Scott Silver as executive vice president of merchandising for home and hardlines.

The move follows last week’s announcement of the naming of Calvin McDonald as the retailer’s president and CEO. Silver will be responsible for the style and trend direction, and the overall merchandising activities of furniture, mattresses, major appliances, home electronics, housewares, home decor, bed and bath fashions, fitness, hardware, lawn and garden equipment, and seasonal shops.

Before joining Sears Canada, Silver was CEO of Silver Lining Holdings, a consulting and business development firm serving U.S.-based retailers and manufacturers in home products. He has also served in executive positions with Linens ’n Things, Le Gourmet Chef, Bloomingdale’s, B. Altman & Co. and Macy’s.
