NEW YORK–Exclusives in product categories, including home furnishings, will be the focus of a retailer panel discussion slated for the upcoming Licensing International Expo.
Scheduled for Tuesday, June 8 at 10 a.m., the session will concentrate on what it takes to establish a successful private-label program. It will feature Sonya Arthur, senior buyer of decorative bedding for J.C. Penney Home Collection; Julia Fitzgerald, chief marketing officer of toys and season for Kmart/Sears; Dave D’Angelo, senior vice president of Staples Brand Group; and Glen Ellen Brown, vice president and director of brand development for The Hearst Group. The moderator will be Adina Avery-Grossman, managing director of Brandgenuity, a licensing agency.
The session will also spotlight what retailers look for in a brand, what makes a successful pitch and development and lead times for exclusives.
The Licensing International Expo is scheduled for June 8-10 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
