OMAHA, Neb.-Gordmans has appointed Michael Morand executive vice president and chief merchandising officer.
Morand—who has been the retailer’s executive vice president of planning, allocation and analysis—assumed the top merchandising role on an interim basis last month, after the resignation of Johanna Lewis, who had been chief merchandising officer since 2009. Speaking at the ICR XChange Conference, also last month, Jeff Gordman, president and CEO, said Gordmans’ long-term plan was to combine the planning and allocation functions with merchandising.
Morand has thus taken charge over Gordmans’ combined merchandising and planning teams, “serving in a critical role necessary to achieve our strategic objectives and drive Gordmans’ continued expansion in both new and existing markets,” Gordman said yesterday in a company statement.
Morand joined Gordmans in 2007 as director of planning, allocation and analysis. He was promoted to head planning, allocation and analysis the following year.
