The outlets will offer a range of apparel and accessories, including women’s ready-to-wear, men’s, children’s, women’s shoes, fashion accessories, jewelry, handbags and intimate apparel. According to a company statement, the plan (subject to final lease agreements) calls for the opening of four Bloomingdale’s Outlets this year—in Bergen Town Center in Paramus, N.J., Dolphin Mall in Miami, Potomac Mills in Woodbridge, Va., and Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise, Fla. Additional outlets are scheduled in selected U.S. locations next year. Each outlet will measure about 25,000 square feet, and the first four are slated to open either in the summer or fall of 2010.
Orlick reports to Michael Gould, chairman and chief executive officer of Bloomingdale’s. Most recently a teacher of retailing at the Fashion Institute of Technology and a retail consultant, he has been given the title senior vice president for outlet stores, and will lead and develop this sector. He was chairman and chief executive officer of Fortunoff from 2006 to 2008. His career also includes executive positions with the Federated divisions Bloomingdale’s and Rich’s/Lazarus/Goldsmith’s, and the May Co. division Robinson’s Los Angeles.
