NASHVILLE, Tenn.-In a preliminary statement on its fourth-quarter performance, specialty retailer Kirkland’s said same-store sales for the quarter increased 1.4 percent, reversing a 7.9 percent drop in the fourth quarter of last year.
The company said e-commerce sales entered the base of its comparable-store number in December, which provided a boost of 80 basis points to the quarter’s result. Total net sales for the quarter, which ended on Jan. 28, rose 6.4 percent to $148.5 million.
For the full fiscal year, same-store sales declined 4 percent. Net sales for the year increased 3.5 percent to $429.7 million. Kirkland’s will release its full quarterly report on March 8.
