Jones Named Lowe’s Chief Customer Officer

MOORESVILLE, N.C.-Lowe’s has named Michael Jones chief customer officer, effective April 30.

At that time, Jones will assume charge over creating experiences that best serve the retailer’s customers and differentiate Lowe’s from its competitors. He will also oversee customer experience design, merchandising, marketing and communications, and digital interfaces. He will report directly to Robert Niblock, chairman, president and CEO.

Jones will succeed Gregory Bridgeford, who will retire after 32 years with the company. Bridgeford served in a variety of executive roles at Lowe’s, including executive vice president of business development. He was named chief customer officer in 2012.

Jones currently serves as chief merchandising officer, overseeing the full merchandise offering for all of Lowe’s U.S. stores and lowes.com, along with all sourcing activities. He joined the company in 2013 after serving as president and executive vice president of Husqvarna North and Latin America. His career also includes posts with General Electric.
