Hudson’s Bay Names New Heads of Marketing, Creative

Hudson's BayTORONTO-Hudson’s Bay has appointed Michael Crotty and Russ Hardin to lead the marketing and creative efforts, respectively, for Hudson’s Bay and Lord & Taylor.

Crotty has been named executive vice president and chief marketing officer for the two retail nameplates, while Hardin has been appointed senior vice president and chief creative officer. Crotty will be responsible for the overall marketing strategy for both stores, and Hardin will oversee the two retailers’ creative efforts and lead their initiatives in social media, public relations and events.

Both executives will report to Liz Rodbell, who will become president of Hudson’s Bay Co. on Nov. 11. Rodbell, currently executive vice president and chief merchant, was named to succeed Bonnie Brooks, who will become the retailer’s vice chairman, in June.

Crotty’s career covers more than 25 years experience in multichannel retailing and brand management and marketing, with Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and, most recently, Nordstrom. Hardin has held executive positions with Saks, Avon, Lord & Taylor and, most recently, Kohl’s, in addition to running his own brand development agency.
