ATLANTA-Former Google executive Kathy Daly-Jennings has been appointed senior vice president of marketing for Havertys.
The move puts Daly-Jennings in charge of all of the home specialty retailer’s marketing and advertising functions in stores and across its digital formats. She will report to Richard Gallagher, executive vice president of merchandising, and will succeed Thomas Curran when he retires at the end of June.
Most recently, Daly-Jennings served as Google’s head of industry, retail vertical. Her career also includes marketing leadership posts such as director of multichannel marketing for The Home Depot and director of media innovation for Coca-Cola.
Curran’s retirement will bring to an end a 32-year career with Havertys. Gallagher credited him for his role in the initial research surrounding the retailer’s recent store-concept and refresh initiatives, and for his development of the marketing for Havertys-branded products, which were introduced in 2000. “He has steered our advertising and marketing efforts through periods of remarkable change in how we reach our customer—from the almost exclusive use of newspaper to direct mail and television, to today’s multidevice, hyperconnected dynamic marketing,” Gallagher said.
