BENTONVILLE, Ark.–The first two Walmart Express stores, representing the retailer’s new smaller format, will open tomorrow in Gentry, Ark., and Prairie Grove, Ark.
Both stores measure about 15,000 square feet. According to a spokeswoman for Walmart Express, the assortment for both stores includes a limited amount of sheets, towels and kitchen textiles—along with dairy and meat, consumables, dry goods, health and beauty aids, over-the-counter medicines and more.
Walmart Express was created to give flexibility to serving shoppers in rural and urban areas, according to Rachel Smith, manager of the Gentry store. “We want to give our customers convenient access to Walmart right in their own neighborhoods, with low prices every day on everything,” Smith said.
