Family Dollar Enters California Market

MATTHEWS, N.C.–Family Dollar has opened four new stores in California, marking its first presence in that state.

The stores are located in Ontario, Rialto, Riverside and Fontana, all in San Bernardino County. With these openings, Family Dollar is now present in 45 states. The retailer is hosting grand-opening celebrations at the four stores which began yesterday, and which include family activities and a canned food drive to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank.

Howard Levine, Family Dollar’s chairman and CEO, said, “This entry is especially important to Family Dollar as it not only demonstrates our expansion and growth as a nationwide retailer, but allows us to show customers our appreciation by providing a quality, yet value-driven, shopping experience close to home.”
