MINNEAPOLIS-Best Buy has appointed Scott Durchslag senior vice president and president of online and global e-commerce.
In his new role, Durchslag is in charge of bestbuy.com, and oversees the retailer’s global e-commerce efforts, retail multichannel capabilities and online business development. He reports to Stephen Gillett, president of digital, global marketing and strategy, and has succeeded John Thompson, who has retired.
Before joining Best Buy, Durchslag was president of Expedia Worldwide, the online travel agency. His career also includes positions as a partner with McKinsey & Co., chief operating officer of Skype and corporate vice president of Motorola.
