MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis.-Donald Brennan, Kohl’s chief merchandising officer, has resigned and will leave his post on April 1.

The resignation was the subject of a filing on Monday by the retailer with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The filing gave no reason for Brennan’s departure, but did say Kohl’s and Brennan have entered into an agreement that provides for severance benefits including a one-time payment and a bonus payable on or before March 15, 2015, based on Kohl’s financial performance.

Brennan joined Kohl’s in 2001. Since then, he has held positions such as executive vice president, merchandise planning and allocation, executive vice president and general merchandise manager, and senior executive vice president and general merchandise manager. He was named chief merchandising officer in 2010.
