Bon-Ton’s Buccina to Retire; Fernandez Named Chief Marketing Officer



YORK, Pa.–Tony Buccina, vice chairman, president – merchandising for The Bon-Tons Stores has announced plans to retire next February after a 20-year career with the department store. The company said it will begin a search for a new chief merchandising officer.

“I am pleased Tony is staying on through the fiscal year to assist me in my transition here at Bon-Ton,” said Brendan Hoffman, president and CEO, said. “Tony has been a great partner to both our vendor community and to me. I appreciate the leadership and the contributions he has provided to the company over the years and will continue to provide this year.”

The company also appointed Luis Fernandez to the newly created position of executive vice president and chief marketing officer, effective May 7. Fernandez will report to Hoffman and will be responsible for sales promotion and marketing and e-commerce.

Fernandez most recently served as vice president, Last Call Marketing and Consumer Insight for Neiman-Marcus Group.
