NEW YORK-The National Father’s Day Council has awarded Tony Spring, Bloomingdale’s chairman and CEO, with a Father of the Year honor for 2014.
Spring will receive his award at the 73rd annual Father of the Year awards luncheon here on June 4, with proceeds benefiting Save the Children’s U.S. programs. He will be honored along with Vince Camuto, CEO and chief creative officer of Camuto Group, and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.
Spring became Bloomingdale’s chairman and CEO in February, succeeding Michael Gould. From 2008 until February, he was the department-store retailer’s president and chief operating officer. He began his career at Bloomingdale’s in 1987.
He is also involved in community activities. He serves as a director of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
