ATLANTA-Aaron’s has promoted Sharon Lawrence to vice president of finance and has named Kirby Salgado vice president of merchandising.
In her new role, Lawrence oversees the retailer’s finance team. She has succeeded Steve Michaels, who was promoted to vice president of strategic business development last November, prior to his appointment as Aaron’s president, which was announced in April.
Salgado has assumed responsibility for leading the retailer’s merchandising and sourcing functions. He has succeeded Mitch Paull, who was senior vice president of merchandising until he left Aaron’s last July.
Before taking on her new post, Lawrence was Aaron’s director of franchise finance. She joined the retailer in 2012 after a 25-year career at SunTrust Bank, where she served in a number of lending and managerial positions in the bank’s corporate and investment banking division.
Most recently, Salgado served as vice president and general merchandise manager at Sears Holdings, in which he was responsible for merchandising the lawn and garden categories at both Sears and Kmart. His career also includes positions with fred’s Super Dollar, Office Depot and Burdines.
