SAN FRANCISCO-Net revenues for Williams-Sonoma’s holiday shopping season (Oct. 29-Dec. 30) rose 4.8 percent to $1.014 billion, according to a statement from the specialty retailer.
The increase included a gain of 4.4 percent in same-store sales. Laura Alber, president and CEO, said Williams-Sonoma’s holiday sales were within the range of its expectations. “Our holiday performance reflects the strength of our brands in a period of consumer uncertainty and intense promotional activity across the retail industry,” Alber said.
Regarding fiscal 2013, she added that Williams-Sonoma will focus on growing its existing brands, developing new businesses and expanding globally—the latter of which will include the opening of its first stores in Australia.
