With its rolling relief design, the new Dressed cookware collection not only expands Alessi’s existing line with designer Marcel Wanders, but also expands into the non-stick cookware category for the first time.
Dressed, with its distinctive filigree pattern, first debuted last year in such categories as cutlery, glassware and tabletop. The new cookware line includes a grill pan, a low casserole (in 9.5- and 11-inch sizes), a saucepan, a frying pan (in 8-, 9.5-, 11- and 11.75-inch sizes) and an 11-inch deep frying pan. Made of aluminum, the cookware has a Teflon Platinum Plus non-stick coating with a magnetic steel bottom, making it suitable for induction cooktops. The lids and handles are made of stainless steel.
Retail prices range from $115 for the 8-inch frying pan to $240 for the grill pan.
Alessi decided to go into non-stick cookware because it wanted to complete its range of cookware lines, said Paolo Cravedi, managing director, Alessi USA. “Since we have copper, tri-ply and stainless steel cookware items with encapsulated bottoms, we needed one line of non-stick aluminum at that particular price bracket. In addition, non-stick is still very popular in the most parts of the world.”
