ATLANTA–AmericasMart Atlanta is expanding the product mix of the fourth floor of Building 1, incorporating home furnishings into the formerly all-rug floor. Anchoring the rebranded floor will be Four Hands, the supplier of upholstery, case goods, accents, lighting and rugs, which will relocate its AmericasMart showroom from the Home Furniture Center to a 12,000 square-foot showroom on that floor, showroom 4-A-1. The new floor will be unveiled at the next Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market, Jan. 9-16, 2013.
“Retailers coming to market now want to see products across a wide variety of merchandise classifications,” Jeffrey Portman, president and COO of AMC, the parent company of AmericasMart Atlanta. “Their stores are increasingly carrying multiple product categories, so the one-stop approach reflects what they come to markets for. We saw that with the combining of the gift and home market dates with the rug show dates, and now organizing the market along these lines is the logical next step.”
“This type of endeavor fits perfectly with AmericasMart’s vision of innovation and total product integration,” Portman added. “We’re executing plans for the fourth floor to evolve into a lifestyle showcase with multiple home and rug product collections, and Four Hands’ move is indicative of their innovative spirit that has made them a huge success.”
Matthew Briggs, CEO and President of Four Hands, added, “Our recent expansion in both size and presence across the major markets has been a key focus in our growth strategy. It has been very effective. When the opportunity arose to anchor a new concept in Atlanta, we simply couldn’t pass it up.”
When asked about any additional home exhibitors on the fourth floor, Tammy Trout, executive director, AmericasMart Atlanta, said, “We are working with several new home decor exhibitors to establish new showrooms in Atlanta, as well as some of our current home exhibitors to create satellite showrooms to extend their accessibility to our buyers.”
