ELVERSON, Penn.–Coatings company Whitford has named Richard Hobbs as managing director for its North American office. Hobbs succeeds Mike Miller, who has retired but will consult for the company on a part-time basis.
Hobbs has more than 25 years of experience in manufacturing and distribution environments. Previous positions include serving as a general manager for Morgan Technical Ceramics, a manufacturer of advanced ceramic components, and as director of operations for Dynavac, a manufacturer of high-vacuum systems for thin-film deposition, space simulation and custom-engineered applications. Hobbs also has expertise in strategic sourcing, sales, new business development, ISO, the management strategy Six Sigma and lean manufacturing.
