CHICAGO-Leggett & Platt has teamed with Second City Communications for an original hip-hop music video promoting hybrid mattresses.
Second City Communications is the marketing arm of The Second City, the improvisational theater company. The video, titled “Get Hybrid,” is described in a statement as “a high-energy blend of comedy and rap music touting the benefits of Leggett & Platt’s Comfort Core line of fabric encased coils,” which are used in the manufacture of hybrid mattresses.
The video features two fictional hip-hop performers, Springz and Phoam, who rap and breakdance about how “the two of us together are way better than one.” It is available on the website ultimate-hybrid.com.
Mark Quinn, segment vice president of marketing for Leggett & Platt, said, “‘Get Hybrid’ cuts through the clutter and goes beyond the dull and predictable material you typically see in the B-to-B space.”
