ATLANTA–Currey & Co.’s sales representative Bob Craig passed away on New Year’s Day on the golf course, after having a heart attack. He was 74, and represented the company for more than 20 years. He lived in the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., area.
“It would be easy to describe Bob Craig as the consummate salesman, but these words only scratch the surface as to the depth that Bob represented as a man,” said Bob Ulrich, vice president of sales for Currey & Company. “He was everything that you could ask for in a rep and I often thought that if we could clone a rep, we would want to clone Bob. As a representative he was professional, hard-working, dedicated, intelligent, and driven.” But those were not the qualities that Ulrich remembers most about him. Craig “brought a sense of warmth, kindness and sincerity to his business that could overcome any hurdle thrown before him. I never left a meeting with Bob that did not end on a positive note. His ability to communicate was clear and reassuring. His smile was always there to greet any situation.”
Brownlee Currey, president, added, “He was a fabulous sales representative for our company. He stuck with us through both the good and the bad. We could not have asked for more.”
Besides working for Currey & Co. as its rep for Florida, Craig was also the head golf professional at Deerfield Country Club, Deerfield Beach, Fla. Golf was his passion, and he even attended Rollins College, Winter Park, Fla., on a golf scholarship.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sherry Craig, his brother Tom Craig, five daughters and 10 grandchildren.
