BENTON HARBOR, Mich.–Michael Todman, president of Whirlpool North America, has been named president of Whirlpool International, while Marc Bitzer, currently executive vice president of Whirlpool Corp., will succeed Todman.
Both men will assume their new posts on Jan. 1, and both will report to the company’s chairman and chief executive officer, Jeff Fettig. Todman’s new duties include overseeing Whirlpool’s international businesses in Europe, Latin America and Asia, along with the company’s global information systems. Bitzer will take charge of the appliance giant’s North American business, with an emphasis on growing the company’s brands “with innovation and disciplined marketplace execution,” Fettig said in a company statement.
In his current position, Bitzer is in charge of Whirlpool’s U.S. operations. The statement did not say if a replacement for Bitzer has been named.
