MIDDLEBURY, Vt.–Vermont Organic Fiber Co., manufacturer of organic wool yarn, fabrics and blankets, has entered the mattress-pad category with its new O-Wool patented line of pads.
The collection includes pads for babies through adults, made with organic wool certified by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s organic standard, according to a Vermont Organic Fiber statement. The company also said the line uses wool’s properties as a natural repellent to wetness to absorb moisture, and the pads are flame-resistant and insulate against both heat and cold. The line will be sold at baby and bedding stores, and by online retailers as well as the company’s Web site, owool.com.
Suggested retail prices range from $45 for Puddle Pads to $250 for king-sized pads.
