NEW YORK—Calvin Klein, David Rockwell, Yoko Ono and other leading figures in architecture, art, design, fashion and entertainment have each customized the iconic Vipp trash can, and the results will be auctioned off at an event on October, 28. The event marks Vipp’s 70th anniversary, and the benefits from the auction will go to the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA).
All 35 bins will be on view at DWR: Tools for Living store on Wooster Street from October 15 to 28, where the public will be able to place bids on them.
The actual auction will take place at Design Within Reach’s flagship store on Greene Street on October 28, and which will be hosted by Veronica Webb, Vipp, Design Within Reach and DIFFA.
