NEW YORK–Barbara Garnes, chief executive officer of SoHe Designs, will deliver a presentation on the home-textiles industry on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 11 Penn Plaza here.
Garnes will speak on solutions for survival for the industry in a difficult economy, including alternatives for independent designers and small design houses. Garnes, who founded SoHe in 2006, has been an activist for made-in-the-U.S.A. products and helps in efforts to rebuild the home-textiles manufacturing sector in this country. Also participating in this event will be Susan Power, publisher of AboutSource.com.
Last month, SoHe announced that it would show its new products at the 11 Penn Plaza location during the New York International Gift Fair (Aug. 15-20) and New York Home Textiles Market Week (Aug. 14-20).
