ASTORIA, N.Y.–Restoration by Costikyan, a leading company in the care, restoration and cleaning of fine rugs and tapestries that was founded in 1886, has purchased Chatalbash Rug Company, which sells Oriental rug and carpet materials to the trade. The combined entity will emerge as a new company, called Chatalbash by Costikyan.
The new company will continue to offer cleaning and fiber protection products, as well as expand its line to include rolls of wrapping paper and plastic tubing, environmentally friendly non-slip padding by Jade Industries and Appleton wool, and an exclusive line of cotton Oriental rug fringes manufactured in the U.S. It will also extend its distribution of Michael Halebian products to include its hard wood and tile surfaces. In addition, Chatalbash by Costikyan will become a full distributor for Masterblend, with its rug, carpet and upholstery cleaning supplies.
