NEW YORK–Plans are underway to create a show-stopping experience for buyers shopping Forty One Madison during the New York Gift Show, August 16-20. Thirty-seven of the building’s 80-plus showrooms will be open and ready to show off the best of the best in gifts, along with distinctive selections for babies and children, Christmas and the bridal registry.
“Increasingly, we find buyers are shopping Forty One Madison to seek out the new and unique—what you could call ‘wow’ items,” said Laurie Burns, senior vice president and director of Forty One Madison. “From one-of-a-kind art glass objects to popular licensed brands, Christmas themed items and gifts for the bride, the choices are varied and broad.”
Seven of Forty One Madison’s luxury brand companies will be showcased in the building’s lobby with one or two dramatic and unique items on museum-style pedestals that will “surprise and delight buyers and generate orders!” Burns said. The companies to be highlighted are Mottahedeh & Co, Julia Watts LLC, Seguso Viro, William Yeoward Crystal, Meissen Porcelain, Royal Copenhagen and L’Objet, a new showroom.
To enhance the shopping experience between the Javits Center and Forty One Madison, the building has retained a luxury shuttle that will run exclusively between the two venues. The complimentary mini bus will depart on the hour from Forty One Madison and on the half-hour from the Javits Center, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., August 16-19.
Also, anyone with a valid Forty One Madison or New York Gift Show badge can enjoy free admission to the Museum of Modern Art from August 15-20.
The Buyers’ Lounge on Level A at Forty One Madison will offer complimentary issues of gift and tableware trade magazines on its Media Wall, along with free coat checking, WiFi Internet access, phones and restrooms.
