DALLAS–Freedom Gates, a company that offers high-style pet gates, won The Next Big Thing, which concluded at last week’s Dallas Total Home & Gift Market, the Dallas Market Center announced.
The contest, a national product search, debuted in January, and this time people voted by texting their choices for one of three finalists—Freedom Gates, EZ Off BBQ Tools, and BibBaby—all of which exhibited at the recent market. More than 1,000 votes were received, DMC said.
Freedom Gates received a prize package worth more than $10,000, including exhibit space at the Total Home & Gift Market in January, a feature profile in one of DMC’s publications and consultations from leading industry experts regarding branding, public relations, visual merchandising and more. The contest will now run on an annual basis, with the next one taking place during the June 2010 Dallas Total Home & Gift Market.
In addition, DMC announced the winners of its June 2009 Total Home & Gift Market Best of Show awards for booth or showroom displays that were creative, fresh and innovative. Winners included Global Views, The Klein Group, J. Mackie, Ltd., Taylor on Ten and Gallery Six in the World Trade Center, and Two’s Company, George Kovacs and Murray Feiss in the Trade Mart.
