SYOSSET, N.Y.–Fran O’Neill, co-founder and vice president of sales for Antrim, has retired, Stanton Carpet Corp. announced. O’Neill and Dan McGovern founded Antrim Carpets in 1997, and Stanton acquired the company ten years later.
O’Neill was instrumental in transitioning Antrim’s sales staff and continuing to grow the business, the company said in a release. “I have thoroughly enjoyed my almost 40 years in the flooring industry, and I am very grateful for the many terrific friends that I have made over the years,” O’Neill said. “I now look forward to a new phase in my life.”
Jonathan Cohen, chief operations officer, Stanton, said, “We sincerely appreciate all Fran has accomplished for our company in this short time period, but can also fully appreciate and respect his decision to retire and spend more time with his family.”
O’Neill first joined the industry in 1971, when he became a salesman for carpeting manufacturer Beatty Carpet. He then worked for Karastan and Congoleum before founding Antrim in 1997
