NEW YORK–Gift for Life recently raised $200,000 for the benefit of AIDS research.
Its January fund-raising event, “Stakes are High Casino,” was held at La.venue New York and welcomed more than 300 people from the gift and home industries.
A new party format featured casino-style gambling, food, drink, a disc jockey and prize drawings. Prizes included a Hewlett-Packard laptop, a stay in a Caribbean resort, a leather duffel bag by Coach, VIP winery tours in Sonoma County, Calif., and other luxury goods.
“The change in format focused on having fun as well as raising money for a great cause,” said Tabitha Bowling, Gift for Life chairperson. “To date we have raised more than $4 million for HIV/AIDS research and assistance through the generous help of partners and party attendees. We look forward to seeing everyone in January 2010.”
