LAS VEGAS–Roger Thomas, executive vice president of Wynn Design and Development, has been given the “Design Icon” award from the World Market Center.
According to a World Market Center statement, Thomas has been the key creative force behind the interior designs of the Wynn Las Vegas, Wynn Macau and Encore and the Wynn Diamond Macau resorts, the latter of which is scheduled to open in January 2010. His imprint can also be found in the interiors of the Golden Nugget hotels, the Mirage, the Treasure Island and the Bellagio resorts.
Thomas is the first native of Las Vegas to receive the honor. His work has been published in Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, Interiors magazine and Hospitality Design. In 2005, he received a lifetime achievement award from the Network of Executive Women in Hospitality.
